Plasma is the hottest state of matter and exsists when atoms become too fast to maintain their electrons. Plasma is ussually formed from gas particles being ionized, giving them too many electrons to maintain in their normal state. While extremely rare on earth and pretty much only exsisting in artificial environments, it's the most common phase of matter in the universe because it comprises all stars.
